When you Really Believe
Say something like, “The sun will rise again tomorrow,” or “The sun is so bright and hot.”
These widely accepted facts roll off our tongue without us challenging the statement in our minds.
Yet, when we are declaring God’s promises for our lives, such as youth renewal, we act weirdly, thinking we have to shout it out passionately, or force it out a certain way.
This weirdness is a manifestation of our unbelief. We actually doubt the words and that is why we want to strengthen our words by using the theatrics and dramatization.
Say this: “The sun rises every morning.” Notice how you can whisper it and the words still come out so easily, without even a smidge of doubt.
Now say, “My youth is renewed like the eagles. My flesh is renewed to be fresher than a child’s.”
Any difference? Does your mind jump to alert and say, “Really? No it cannot be! How is that even possible?”
No wonder praying in tongues is so powerful. Your mind does not understand what is being said, so it cannot even doubt. Every word that the Holy Spirit brings to your tongue is sent forth with pure faith.
To fix our conscious beliefs, we need to hear and hear God’s promises until we believe them in our heart.
When we speak them and there is no opposition from the mind, then we know we truly believe!
